Citizens protesting against the government are raising the issue of unpaid wages, noting that they haven’t received their salaries for several months.
In an interview with us, one of the protesters described the situation, emphasizing that it affects dozens of employees.
“We worked, and they don’t give us any money. They give us a little, but they’re supposed to give us another 55 million,” he said.
According to him, in the current situation, the parties are shifting responsibility. “The contractor says they didn’t pay, the client says they did. We checked, and they did pay, but they took some of the money back in cash.”
Employees claim that some of the money was returned, while the rest disappeared. “55 million was returned, the contractor stole the rest, and it disappeared. We’re also owed about 55 million drams for these three projects, and we’re not getting paid.”
They noted that they had found the contractor but were unable to establish contact with them.
When asked if they had contacted law enforcement, the citizen replied, “No, we wanted it to happen this way.”
The protesters note that the total debt amounts to approximately 55 million drams, and the number of affected employees is estimated at 95.
