Argentine authorities publish dossier on Nazis who escaped to the country
The Argentine government has declassified and presented to the public archival materials that shed light on the activities of Nazi criminals who found refuge in the South American country after the end of World War II.
Among the published documents, the dossier compiled by Argentine intelligence on Josef Mengele, a doctor known for his inhumane experiments on concentration camp prisoners, attracts special attention.
“The collection includes more than 1,850 documents collected in 7 dossiers,” the description of the published archive states.
The portal, in particular, contains materials on the case of Adolf Eichmann, who was taken out of Argentina by Israeli intelligence as a result of a secret operation, as well as information on concentration camp guard Edward Roschmann and Gestapo officer Walter Kutschmann.
Previously, declassified CIA documents revealed a decade-long operation by American intelligence to find Adolf Hitler after his death was officially confirmed. The article notes that CIA agents suspected the Fuhrer of possibly fleeing to South America under a false name.
