China has begun using its own four-legged rescue robots

Chinese fire and rescue services have launched domestically produced four-legged robots that resemble dogs for the first time, the Global Times newspaper reported.

According to the publication, the first such machine was received by one of the rescue teams in the city of Changsha (central Hunan Province). Thus, as noted, the process of mass introduction of such robots, which had previously passed the testing stage, has begun.

The new X30 was developed by DEEP Robotics, a company based in the city of Hangzhou (eastern Zhejiang Province). The robot is 1 m long, 50 cm high and weighs about 56 kg.

This mechanized dog has already participated in several rescue training exercises, including helping them in high-rise buildings. The machine is well adapted to extreme conditions and, as stated, can successfully perform tasks at temperatures from minus 20 to plus 55 degrees Celsius. It is designed to move over rough terrain with obstacles at a speed of up to 5 m/s and is suitable for missions that require covering distances within a radius of up to 10 km.

The robot is equipped with remote control and is already used during inspections at energy facilities in China, as well as in law enforcement. The X30 model maintains real-time communication and is equipped with modern sensors that can detect harmful gases and other hazardous factors during a fire. In addition, it is designed to collect key data and create three-dimensional maps from the scene.

Thanks to this, as noted, rescuers are able to make important decisions more quickly during operations. The robot also operates in autonomous mode and charges quickly. It is suitable for emergency response, suitable for use in the social sphere and in production.
