Taliban fighters of Afghanistan and Pakistani border guards clashed on Thursday in the Bahramcha district of Helmand province, according to local sources, KabulNow reports.
The confrontation reportedly started when Taliban forces were transporting two containers to newly established outposts and came under fire from Pakistani troops.
The situation remains tense.
In a similar incident last year, fighting between the two sides led to the closure of the Torkham border crossing for nearly a month, halting both passenger travel and commercial trade.
