In connection with the events surrounding the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Middle East, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, is in contact with the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the heads of regional dioceses.
“His Holiness the Patriarch is concerned and alarmed by the current situation and is in constant contact with the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the heads of regional dioceses,” said Father Yesay Artenian, Director of the Information System of the Holy See of Etchmiadzin.
As a reminder, Israel and the United States launched attacks on Iran on February 28, and Tehran responded with strikes on Israeli and American military bases in the Middle East.
Hundreds of people have been killed and wounded in US-Israeli strikes in Iran, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of other national leaders and military personnel.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported today that at least 555 people have been killed in the country as a result of US and Israeli attacks against Iran.
