Washington maintains contact with Vladimir Putin through Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. This was stated by Keith Kellogg, the US Special Presidential Representative for Ukraine, at the Warsaw Security Forum.
“We know that Lukashenko communicates frequently with President Putin. We have established a relationship to ensure open channels of communication. This way, we can ensure that our message reaches Putin fully,” he said.
According to him, this is precisely why the US participated in the release of political prisoners in Belarus.
