A plane flying from Baku to Grozny has crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan’s emergency services report.
It is noted that the plane that crashed was an Azerbaijan Airlines plane. Before that, it requested an emergency landing.
52 personnel and 11 units of equipment from the Kazakhstan Emergencies Ministry arrived in Aktau at the crash site. Upon arrival, the aircraft was found to be on fire. Rescue units began extinguishing the fire.
Information about the victims is currently being clarified, preliminary reports indicate that there are survivors.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that the plane from Baku was diverted to Makhachkala and then to Aktau due to fog in Grozny. The Azerbaijan Airlines plane on the Baku-Grozny flight sent an emergency signal.
“Due to fog, the plane flew to Makhachkala, from there to Aktau (Kazakhstan), we have no information,” the press service of the airport of the capital of Chechnya told RIA Novosti.
