Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has earned unconditional respect throughout the world thanks to his talent, knowledge and intellect, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, RIA Novosti reports.
On Thursday, Putin will present the highest state awards of the Russian Federation in the Kremlin. The ceremony traditionally takes place in the Kremlin’s Catherine Hall.
“The talent, knowledge, experience and intellect of Russia’s chief diplomat Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov have earned him unconditional respect both in our country and throughout the world, both among friends, as we sometimes say, and among so-called geopolitical opponents. And at the heart of this recognition is his devotion to Russia, his readiness to firmly defend its interests in any situation, and his many years of colossal and complex hard work for the good of the fatherland. Sergey Viktorovich has been awarded one of the highest awards – the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called,” the Russian president said at the ceremony.
