Russia launched more than 100 drones at Ukraine ahead of Istanbul talks

Residential buildings in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine were hit by Russian drones on the night of May 15, said Serhiy Lysak, the head of the regional military administration. According to him, about 10 private houses, shops and cars in the Mezhevskaya community of the Synelnykovsky district were damaged. The community center was partially destroyed.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, as a result of an attack by Russian drones, a fire broke out “at one of the objects in the region,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported. Rescuers extinguished the fire, no one was hurt. The head of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv said that civilian infrastructure was not damaged.

In the Sumy region, according to the authorities, civilian infrastructure in a village in the Sumy community was hit by drones, a fire broke out, no one was injured.

The authorities of the Kyiv region and Lutsk in the Volyn region also reported repelling an attack by Russian drones. According to the authorities, no one was injured.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian military attacked Ukraine on the night of May 15, using 110 attack drones and drone imitators. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 62 drones were shot down, and 29 fell without reaching their target.

Russia and Ukraine are planning to hold their first direct talks since 2022 on May 15. They will be held in Istanbul.
