The Central Election Commission of Belarus received documents on the registration of a group collecting signatures in favor of Lukashenko’s nomination for president

The Central Election Commission has received documents on the registration of a citizens’ initiative group to collect voters’ signatures in support of nominating Alexander Lukashenko as a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus, BELTA reports.

The head of the initiative group is Yuri Senko (Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus).

“Today we submitted an application and all the documents attached to it to the Central Election Commission to register a citizens’ initiative group to collect voters’ signatures in support of nominating Alexander Lukashenko as a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus,” said Yuri Senko. “After registration, the initiative group will begin collecting signatures in support of nominating Alexander Lukashenko as a candidate for President. All specialists are prepared, we are convinced that we will go this way very beautifully.”

In accordance with the law, an initiative group to nominate presidential candidates must consist of at least 100 people.

The citizens’ initiative group for collecting signatures of voters in support of the nomination of Alexander Lukashenko as a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus was the first to submit documents to the Central Election Commission.
