Turkmenistan pardons 276 convicts in honor of International Neutrality Day

Canada and Mexico could become new American states, US President-elect Donald Trump has said.

“We subsidize Canada by over $100 billion a year, we subsidize Mexico by almost $300 billion. Why are we subsidizing these countries? If we’re going to subsidize them, let them become [new] states,” he said in an interview with NBC News.

On November 25, Trump promised that on his first day in office, January 20, 2025, he would impose tariffs of 25% on all goods from Canada and Mexico due to illegal immigration and drug smuggling. He also said he would impose an additional 10% tariff on all goods from China due to the alleged large-scale drug smuggling that is coming into the US from China. In addition, the elected American leader expressed his readiness to introduce trade duties of 100% on goods from BRICS countries if they create a new currency or abandon the dollar.
