The United States completely ignored international law when it decided to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities in June, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said during extended talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
“The United States, in violation of all international norms, attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities. They violated international law and all generally recognized norms. The Islamic Republic of Iran has never started a war against any [country]. However, when we became the target of attacks, we were forced to respond. We understand that the West wants to dominate the region [the Middle East]. These attacks were directed not only against Iran, but against all independent states in the world,” Pezeshkian said.
