A tense situation developed near the prelacy of the Aragatsotn Diocese. Opposition members of the Yerevan Council of Elders attempted to enter the prelacy, but NSS officers prevented them from entering.
“We want to light a candle,” declared a member of the Yerevan Council of Elders, to which an NSS officer responded, “The candle should have been lit yesterday; don’t interfere with our service.”
As a reminder, the NSS has been conducting searches at the prelacy of the Aragatsotn Diocese since this morning. Eleven clergy have been detained, and the head of the diocese has been arrested.
