White House: FBI Returns Boxes Seized During Mar-a-Lago Raids to Trump

The White House said Friday that the FBI has given President Donald Trump boxes of classified documents that were seized after Trump left office during his first term, NBC News reported.

It is unclear whether the boxes contained classified material, but Trump revealed the news on Truth Social on Friday evening. “The DOJ just returned the boxes that Crazy Jack Smith made such a fuss about. They are being shipped to Florida and will one day be part of the Trump Presidential Library,” Trump wrote.

“Justice has finally been served. I did absolutely nothing wrong. This was simply an attack on a political opponent that obviously failed. Justice will now be served in our country,” the president added.

On Friday, White House staffers were seen loading about 15 boxes of documents into the overhead compartment of Air Force One, NBC News reported.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said the FBI was “returning to the president his property that was seized during illegal searches.”

“We are picking up the boxes today and loading them on Air Force One,” he said.

Responding to questions from reporters during the flight, presidential adviser Alina Habba said she personally transported some of the boxes with staff “to return them to where they were illegally taken from, which is Florida.”

Habba also criticized the special counsel who investigated Trump’s handling of classified documents and first brought charges in 2023.

“Jack Smith is gone. We are in the Oval Office. Frankly, it was a hoax, as we knew it was,” Habba added.
