Since the end of August, information has been circulating about the possible recall of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Russia Gurgen Arsenyan. Although there have already been publications about this, no official denial has been made so far. After Arsenyan's arrival in Armenia in September, it was speculated that he would not return to Moscow again. However, the ambassador again left for the Russian capital and continues to carry out his diplomatic duties. Accordingto the source of the news outlet, the reason for this is that the new Ambassador's aggression on the issue of official consent of the host state is still unresolved. According to the publication, the day before, Gurgen Arsenyan organized a large reception at his residence in Moscow dedicated to the 35thanniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia. The event took place about 20 days after the Independence Day. Accordingto the Ambassador's close friends, the reception was organized by Arsenian's personal means, and it is not excluded that it also had the significance of a farewell event. At the same time, according to sources, a separate event of the Ambassador's farewell is planned at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the near future. According tothe publication, the Russian side initially had some reservations about Gurgen Arsenyan's appointment, but later the parties managed to reach an understanding. Sources suggest that this could also have played a role in his possible dismissal. Earlier information was published that the Armenian authorities are considering the candidacy of 67-year-old Samvel Mkrtchyan as ambassador to Moscow. The latter engaged in diplomatic activity in European countries, and in 2004-2010 he served as Armenia's representative to NATO. It is also noted that Samvel Mkrtchyan is the uncle of RA Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Absoghomyan. However, according to the publication, the issue of Mkrtchyan's possible appointment has not yet been finalized, as the Russian side may disagree with his candidacy.
