American entrepreneur Kam Ghafarrian has won the 2026 State Prize of Armenia for global investment in the field of high technologies. Hovik Musayelyan, coordinator of the work of the competition committee and the international selection committee, director of the Synopsys Armenia company, announced Dapnekri's name today, October 6, during a press conference held in the Engineering City of Yerevan. Kam Ghafarrian is an American entrepreneur of Iranian origin and one of the outstanding figures of modern commercial spaceflight. Its business activities include space, nuclear energy and deep technology. Ghafarrian is a co-founder of a number of large technology companies. Among them is "Axiom Space", which is engaged in commercial flights to the International Space Station (ISS) and the creation of the commercial space station "Axiom Station". His other company, Intuitive Machines, carries out lunar missions, transporting cargo to the lunar surface and creating infrastructure for the lunar economy. Ghafarrian is also the co-founder of X-energy, a leading nuclear reactor and fuel developer, and Quantum Space, a space infrastructure and satellite developer. He is also the founder and CEO of "IBX" investment and innovation company. Through the company, he supports a number of projects in the space, energy and deep technology sectors. Ghafarrian also founded the non-profit organization "Limitless Space Institute", which conducts research and develops technologies that may make interstellar space flights possible in the future.
