The prosecutor demanded to extend the term of house arrest of Bagrat Archbishop Galstanyan by 3 months. At the session held on September 24, the prosecution submitted a corresponding petition (the term of detention expires on September 25), arguing that Galstanyan may influence the witnesses if he is released from house arrest. Lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan objected, stressing that the archbishop should be released. He noted that during house arrest, the Bishop meets with people and participates in liturgies, and the presented demand has a political connotation. "There is no basis and the prosecutors have not presented any argument to extend the restriction of freedom," the lawyer stated, adding that the archbishop himself asked not to file a motion to change his restraining order.
