There are no representatives of Armenia in the observation mission of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in the Russian State Duma elections. Rustam Shohmurod, head of the group of international observers, told RIA Novosti about this. "No, Armenia is not represented, they have frozen their participation in CSTO. They are not here either. it is their decision," Shohmurod noted. The central observation group published by the CSTO PA includes representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Serbia. Armenia is missing from this list. The mission observes in Moscow, Moscow region, as well as in foreign polling stations opened in CSTO member states. In February 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the suspension of Yerevan's participation in the CSTO, arguing that the organization, in the assessment of the Armenian side, did not fulfill its security obligations towards Armenia. the Voting for the 9th convocation of the State Duma will be held from September 18 to 20. Within the framework of unified voting, direct elections of local authorities are also held in eight regions of Russia. In total, more than 2.2 thousand election campaigns of different levels are planned. The CSTO PA mission has been monitoring the voting process since September 18. The observers were present at the opening of the election precincts, as well as held meetings with the representatives of the Russian parliamentary parties and the leadership of the Federation Council. The mission plans to present a summary conclusion based on the results of the elections.
