The Armenian authorities have adopted the policy of severing ties with Russia and strengthening cooperation with the West. It is obvious that Yerevan seeks to expand cooperation with NATO. This was announced by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu. "The most eloquent situation has been created in Armenia. Let me remind you that in the 90s, Russia saved that country from economic and energy collapse, and during the ten years of its membership in the EAEU, its economy grew almost three times. Meanwhile, the current authorities have adopted a policy of severing ties with Russia and strengthening cooperation with the West," Shoigu said on Thursday at the meeting of the members of the Scientific Expert Council. "Yerevan's aspiration to expand cooperation with NATO is obvious, as well as its open consumerist attitude towards regional integration mechanisms, first of all, EAEU and CSTO," he added.
