On October 29, Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan attended the three-day training organized jointly by the Institution of the RA Human Rights Defender and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). at the concluding event of the training course and gave certificates to the police officers participating in the training course. The course was intended for the police command staff of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and was entitled "Coordination of gatherings (police activities) in accordance with human rights". In his speech, the Defender emphasized that, despite the reforms implemented over the years, there are still problems in terms of guaranteeing the right to freedom of peaceful assembly. In that regard, the defender emphasized the continuous improvement of the knowledge and skills of the police officers, overcoming the problems related to human rights in the field. At the same time, the Defender emphasized the importance of ensuring proper and favorable conditions of service for police officers. Despite the critical stances of the Human Rights Defender in relation to the sector, Anahit Manasyan emphasized the existence of a stable and effective partnership with the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs. In this context, the Defender emphasized, for example, the high rate of implementation of the recommendations of the Human Rights Defender by state bodies in 2025, emphasizing the increase in the rate of implementation of recommendations of a systemic nature by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Summarizing the speech, Anahit Manasyan thanked the OSCE ODIHR for cooperation with the Human Rights Defender Institution and jointly organizing the course. At the end of the course, the participating police officers were given certificates.
