A tent village is being built in one of Armenia's military training centers. It is planned to hold a ten-day preliminary training of the training camp participants there. Defense Minister Suren Papikyan announced this at the session of the National Assembly on October 28, answering the question of Ludvig Gyulnazaryan, deputy of the ruling "Civil Agreement" party. In particular, the MP was interested in the effectiveness of the training sessions and the planned changes. He also asked whether the possibility of organizing the gatherings taking into account the former military professions and skills of the participants is being considered. In response, Papikyan considered the 25-day training camps an important part of the reforms implemented in recent years, while noting that the system still needs to be improved. "Currently, a large tent settlement is being built in one of our military training centers. Its purpose is to conduct the ten-day preliminary military training of our compatriots who are going through training camps," said the minister. According to him, the new settlement will allow to increase the efficiency of training and provide more comfortable conditions for the participants. Papikyan noted that the European Union supports the implementation of the project by providing funding within the framework of the European Peace Fund. Speaking about professional training, the minister said that the training sessions are already being organized taking into account one or another specialization of the participants. At the same time, work is being carried out in the direction of using the experience gained in civilian life by the participants of the gatherings. "Now people want more to use their skills, knowledge and experience gained during further education and work activities in the army. We pay more attention to this direction. As a rule, the assignment to this or that military unit is mainly done taking this or that profession into account," stated the Minister of Defense of Armenia.
