The Ministry of Environment presented a project for public discussion on the application of a temporary ban on the export of whitefish from the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the justification of the project, it is mentioned that in order to evaluate the natural reproduction of whitefish in Lake Sevan in 2025-2026, to clarify the dates of spawning stages, from December 2025 to February 6, 2026, the Ministry of Environment, A scientific hunt was carried out by the specialists of "Sevan National Park" SNOC and NAS "Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology" SNOC. In order to ensure the natural reproduction of whitefish, a program of complex strict measures is implemented every year from the end of November to February of the following year in order to exclude illegal hunting during the whitefish hunting ban. According to the draft, it is proposed to establish a six-month ban from the territory of the Republic of Armenia for the export of salmon species originating from the Republic of Armenia under the codes of the EAEU ETA AA 0302 91 000 0, 0303 91, 1604 32 001 0 and 0511 91 901 9. against the export of whitefish fry.
