The Parliament of Georgia adopted the third and final reading of the draft amendments to the country's Tax Code, which envisages revising the income threshold for property tax payment. With legislative changes, it is planned to increase the minimum threshold of annual income to 100 thousand lari, and the tax rate will be from 0.8% to 1%. According to the legislators, this model will free people with small and medium incomes from additional tax burden. According to the corrected data, about 81,000 people will be exempted from tax, and the 2026 budget will lose about 22.3 million GEL, as the changes will apply to tax payments in 2025.
