The Warsaw Prosecutor's Office has sent the indictment against Grzegorz Braun, a member of the European Parliament, and five other people to the court, reports Polsat News. Brown was charged with four counts, including stealing Ukrainian and European Union flags, destroying an LGBT+ exhibition in the Polish parliament, and defaming the organizers of the Daffodils campaign. According to the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office, the alleged crimes were committed in April, May and June 2025. Two of the charges relate to flag theft. According to the investigation, Brown stole the flag of Ukraine from the building of the municipality of Byala Podlyaska, and the flag of the European Union from the building of the former Ministry of Industry in Katowice. The value of the stolen item is estimated at 20 and 388 zlotys, respectively. In addition, the member of the European Parliament is accused of destroying ten billboards of the exhibition dedicated to the LGBT+ community in the Seim building. The damage was estimated at 3690 zlotys. The fourth episode concerns the organizers of the "Daffodils" campaign, including accusations of slandering the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. It is about a statement made by Brown during the presidential debates in April 2025, when he called the yellow daffodil "a symbol of shame and subjugation." Among the other defendants is Parliament member Roman Fritz, who is accused of complicity in the theft of the EU flag. Three more people, according to the version of the investigation, helped to steal the flag of Ukraine by providing and installing a ladder. The Prosecutor's Office also commented on another court proceeding against Brown. The court canceled the sessions scheduled for October 30 and November 6, after the politician submitted a medical certificate. However, according to the investigation, on October 30, he participated in the demonstration near the Constitutional Tribunal for several hours, gave a speech, gave interviews and communicated with the gathered people. In this regard, on November 2, the prosecutor applied to the court, asking to verify the authenticity of the medical certificate, the circumstances of its issuance, and to conduct an inspection through the Polish Social Insurance Department.
