American theme park Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced the closure of the legendary X2 "American Hills" attraction due to lawsuits related to alleged head injuries caused by its use. The Associated Press (AP) agency reported this on Tuesday. "Although the X2 attraction has always passed numerous safety tests, we have decided to close it because we believe it is the right decision. "Attraction safety is a cornerstone of our business, and when we see that visitor trust has been compromised, we take it very seriously," the agency quoted park president Brian Oerding as saying. According to the agency, over two years, more than 100 people reported receiving cranial injuries as a result of using the attraction. In August, the park settled a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the family of a 22-year-old man who died of a brain hemorrhage. According to Six Flags, X2 is an "American rollercoaster" with a height of about 60 meters and rotating seats, where the train speeds up to 122 km/h. The attraction is closed since July 12.
