If anyone thought that after visiting Matenadaran once again (she has been there before), the Special Representative of the European Union in the South Caucasus, Magdalena Grono, changed her mind and agreed that Gandzasar and Dadivank are historically Armenian. If there were spiritual and cultural centers, then I must disappoint you, this is not the case. Doctor of historical sciences, historian Armen Ayvazyan wrote about this on his Facebook page. In particular, he noted: he defends his and other diplomats' visit to Artsakh, blames the crimes of Azerbaijan and the ethnic cleansing, depopulation, carried out in Artsakh with empty words, and continuously puts a sign of equality between the parties, such as in matters of historical, spiritual and cultural heritage. This is what he literally says. "At the same time, the visit showed that there is no agreement on the historical facts between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the specific issue of cultural heritage." Moreover, when asked directly about the destruction of Armenian churches, cemeteries and other cultural monuments in Artsakh, Grono immediately recalls some of the destruction attributed to "both sides" in the earlier stages of the conflict. adding that these reports have yet to be "independently verified" by cultural heritage experts. Thus, even in the depopulated Artsakh, the same principle of equalization that dissolves the responsibility between "two sides" is applied in the matter of the destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage. I would like to say that the EU considers the Armenian and Azerbaijani views on the history and culture of Artsakh as different but equivalent assessments and has no intention of taking a position on that issue. In other words, they do not care about historical truth, Armenian religious feelings and national dignity. Grono insults the entire Armenian nation with this attitude. That is why there is no need to invite such and such figures to Matenadaran and try to explain something. Both he and his superiors know very well that both Gandzasar and Dadivank were Armenian, as well as all the Armenian churches and monasteries that are still standing or have been destroyed in Artsakh. They should be sent back from the threshold of Armenian sanctuaries, so that they finally understand a thing or two about Armenian history and culture. Otherwise, they will continue to insult, falsify and lie, develop plans for the destruction of Armenians with the Turks and Azerbaijanis and carry them out freely, dulling the vigilance of Armenians with such pompous visits. Unfortunately, this elementary political and diplomatic truth in Armenia, perhaps, will be understood by few and will continue to accept the gronos with respect and explain something."
