Iran will not open the Strait of Hormuz until the fulfillment of seven conditions, which Tehran stipulated in the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum. This was announced by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, during his speech at the parliament session on Sunday, Mehr reports. "Until our seven conditions recorded in the Islamabad memorandum are fulfilled, the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened," Ghalibaf said. He emphasized that Iran's position is "completely clear and final". Ghalibaf stated that Tehran does not intend to be guided by the statements made by American politicians on social networks or their daily comments. According to him, Iran will proceed from "real actions of the opponent", not from his public rhetoric. The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament also stated that the US was recently making proposals to Iran through mediators, but the period when Washington could delay the negotiations and impose unilateral demands, according to him, is over. . Ghalibaf called the current situation part of a "war of perception" in which the US, as he claims, is simultaneously showing a willingness to negotiate, threatening military action and advocating mediation. He stated that these conflicting impulses are aimed at creating uncertainty inside Iran and affecting the calculations of its leadership. At the same time, Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran is ready to conduct negotiations and continue the military confrontation at the same time. "The one who wins at the negotiation table is the one who prepared for war," he said. Speaking about the situation around Israel, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament called the events of October 7, 2023 a turning point for the region. In his opinion, the consequences of that event led to the weakening of the Israeli restraint system and the change in the world community's attitude towards Israel. Ghalibaf also stated that Israel, despite the US support, could not restore the previous level of security.
