US President Donald Trump confused Brazil with India in a post about the elections on his Truth Social social network. The American leader wrote that 125 million people voted in the first round of the Indian presidential election, and the results were announced on the same day. No elections were held in India on Sunday. First, the country's president, Draupadi Murmu, holds that position from July 2022. Secondly, they are elected to that position not by direct voting, but by a collegium of electors made up of deputies of both houses of parliament and state assemblies. The number of voters mentioned by Trump coincides with the results of the first round of the presidential elections in Brazil. Voting there ended at 17:00 local time, and the results began to be announced shortly after the polls closed. In the second round to be held on October 25, incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, will compete. None of them managed to collect more than 50% of votes. After publication, Trump removed the original post and posted a corrected version two minutes later.
