Arca UnionPay cards have been officially launched in Armenia within the framework of the cooperation between Arca national payment system and UnionPay. Converse Bank is one of the first in Armenia to give its cardholders the opportunity to get one card: two local and one international with the features of city cards. The ceremony for the launch of Arca UnionPay cards was held on September 17. The event was attended by the Central Bank of Armenia, Armenian Card national payment system, UnionPay International system, China in Armenia. Representatives of the embassy, financial system. Converse Bank presented and the symbolic card with the Bank's branding was signed by Hrant Hakobyan, the Bank's Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Directorate. He noted: "Being one of the first to join this initiative is natural for Converse Bank. We consistently introduce new technologies and financial solutions, and this partnership is a continuation of that approach. I particularly value the issue of Arca UnionPay cards by Converse Bank from two points of view. The first is the added value created for our customers. If previously the applicability of the Arca card was mainly limited to the payment infrastructure of Armenia, it is possible to make transactions with the joint card also in the international network of UnionPay, taking advantage of the advantages of both systems. Another important direction is the international integration of the national payment system of Armenia. With the cooperation of Arca and UnionPay, it connects to a wide international network, expanding the reach of Armenian banks and their customers." According to Arca director Vardan Khachatryan, "This project is unprecedented not only for Arca, but also for the payment and settlement ecosystem of Armenia. As a result of the cooperation of two national payment systems, Arca and UnionPay, Armenian banks for the first time have the opportunity to issue a joint card, the service of which is carried out in Armenia according to the rules of Arca, and outside the country - Unio in the nPay service network. This is the first stage of cooperation. Other solutions are planned, including fast money transfers. Xiang Yu, Deputy General Manager of UnionPay International's Business Development Department, said: "Cooperation with Arca is an important step on the way to expanding UnionPay's presence and closer integration with the Armenian payment market. By launching a joint card, we combine Arca's local experience and infrastructure with UnionPay's international network, making our services available to Armenian cardholders in different countries around the world. We appreciate the cooperation with Arca, Converse Bank and other partners who have joined the program and we are sure that this is the beginning of new opportunities for long-term partnership."
