The EAEU report published a few days ago about what threatens Armenia's economy if our country leaves the EAEU or its membership is suspended, I am sure, has caused serious questions and concerns for many. I tried to imagine the real risks from all possible angles. The PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan, who is in "Kentron" prison, wrote about this on his Facebook page. In particular, he noted: "First of all, people should be seen behind all the numbers. As a person who has worked in real business and production, I see these risks more clearly. We have to understand that there are people behind the dry economic report. All such "percentages" - decline, increase in prices - speak of the danger of thousands of businesses closing and going bankrupt, tens of thousands of families, hundreds of thousands of people's lives worsening, and a sharp decline in well-being. Behind the numbers are the destinies of thousands of people. I am concerned not just about the numbers, but about the possible drastic deterioration of the quality of life of ordinary, real people, our citizens. Another important issue is that such an analysis should first of all be done in Armenia itself, not for others to do it for us. This is about our country, about our economy, about the lives of our citizens. It would speak about our inner seriousness, about our own responsible attitude. A year before the elections, I had set the task of organizing, gathering experts in the field, competent people to prepare such scenarios and analyses. First of all, such documents should be developed in Armenia, so that we do not constantly deceive ourselves with beautiful lies and fairy tales. We must understand that this is about our life. And if we had done this work ourselves, we would have been very calm about what others did. And finally, the third aspect that I emphasize is about opportunities. These numbers also have the opposite side: wide opportunities to work and develop. Why not take advantage of it without creating problems for ourselves in the EAEU? On the contrary, by developing in EAEU, gaining new opportunities, we should try to strengthen our economy thanks to additional markets and investments from other places. There is no need to jeopardize the existing opportunities, they should be used to develop and expand, to increase the well-being of our people. Economic upheavals have started all over the world before our eyes. In my opinion, they will continue because the reasons are profound. Under these conditions, additional big risks for small Armenia are simply unacceptable. Now we have to take very quiet and restrained steps, not destroy the existing, but taking it as a basis, take advantage of the opportunities brought by the changing world."
