The reaction of Yerevan and the diaspora regarding the diplomats' visit to Karabakh was completely unexpected and quite telling. it shows that the Armenian society, at least the part that responded to that diplomatic visit, is not yet ready for peace. This was announced by Azerbaijani political scientist Vasif Huseinov, who participated in the discussion in remote format, during the conference held in Yerevan on September 23. "Those groups, which I call revanchist and nationalist, still dream of returning Karabakh, Karabakh back. Therefore, the reaction of the Armenian side was quite painful and unexpected for us. Nevertheless, I hope that it will not disrupt the peace process," he said. The expert assured that Armenia and Azerbaijan are very close to signing the peace treaty, saying that the foreign ministers of the two countries will meet in New York today or tomorrow. According to him, new announcements regarding three projects are expected within the framework of the peace process. In this context, he assumed that this will not fail the ongoing peace process between the two countries. Huseinov repeated Baku's thesis that there are allegedly territorial claims to Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia, calling Turkey the main ally of Azerbaijan, which shares that opinion. "Therefore, it is quite obvious that the borders will be opened as soon as Armenia removes the territorial claims from the Constitution. I do not share the pessimism regarding constitutional changes in Armenia. I think it is completely possible and I believe it will happen in the next few months," the political scientist expressed confidence. Huseinov assured that the launch of TRIPP will mean the opening of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the southern part. According to his assessment, it is impossible to launch TRIPP under conditions of closed borders, because logically, the start of the implementation of "Trump's path" already implies the opening of borders in a certain area. Vasif Huseynov noted that this process should be accompanied by the signing of a peace agreement. "Aliyev has repeatedly stated that Azerbaijan is ready to sign the peace treaty the day after the amendment of the Armenian constitution. And the signing of the peace treaty will mean establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of borders. It was Azerbaijan that initiated the peace treaty, as well as the TRIPP project," the expert noted, adding that the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" was transformed into the TRIPP project over time.
