During the counting of votes for the June 7 parliamentary elections, the electronic system of the RA Central Electoral Commission was subjected to an unprecedented cyber attack. At the September 17 session of the National Assembly, during the discussion of the Central Electoral Commission's activity report, the CEC head Vahagn Hovakimyan announced this while answering the questions of the deputies. According to him, the Internet was subjected to a massive attack throughout the country. "The main target was the data transmission systems of the Central Electoral Commission, including the live broadcast from the polling stations," Hovakimyan assured. As the head of the CEC noted, the specialists of the Central Electoral Commission, as well as international partners, were busy neutralizing these threats. "Fortunately, the system of receiving data from the precincts and counting the votes did not stop working for a single minute," he added.
