As of today, the salaries of around 20,000 employees of the state sector in Armenia have been increased. Taron Chakhoyan, deputy of the ruling "Civil Agreement" faction, announced this during the traditional briefings on September 22. Thus, as the deputy noted, the salaries were increased not only for the deputies and ministers, but also for the rank-and-file employees of the state sector. In particular, he justified and justified the salary increase with the need to attract qualified specialists from the private sector and maintain the existing personnel. The parliamentarian also clarified that the increase in the salaries of ordinary employees cannot fail to affect the increase in the salaries of their managers and high-ranking officials. "The salary of the deputy minister cannot be higher than that of the minister himself. Based on this, it was decided to revise the ministers' salaries as well," Chakhoyan explained. The same principle, as the MP mentioned, also applies to MPs. "The deputy minister's salary, in terms of coefficients, cannot be higher than the deputy's salary," the representative of the government added.
